Okay, so you want to see a movie like The Silence of the Lambs and you went to see Hannibal and got a little depressed.  What can you do??  Let me tell you, get to the local video store and rent Manhunter!  Now, I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking, “Hey!  That’s a movie from 1986!”.  And, I’d reply, “So!”.  And then you’d say, “Why don’t you shut your mouth?!”.  And then I’d say, “Why don’t you make me?!”.  And then this would be like a bad episode of Smackdown and then Vince McMahon would sue me for copyright infringement and you know I don’t have a lot of money, so we’d just better avoid the whole thing!  Just do what I tell you and no one will get hurt!!  Rent the movie and then come on back here!

     Alright, so you must be back from the video store, Manhunter in hand and you’re wondering, “What next?”  So here’s what you do.  Watch It!!!  This is a great movie!  If you thought the Silence of the Lambs was a scary, intense movie, this one is just as good.  It’s the story of and FBI agent, Will Graham, who specializes in tracking serial killers.  And there just so happens to be one on the loose, what a coincidence!  The trouble is the Graham has been on medical leave since profiling and catching Dr. Hannibal Lecktor (their spelling, not mine).  It seems that getting inside of Lecktor’s head left Graham a little…shall we say, Mental?!  But, in the name of being a hero and saving innocent lives, Graham agrees to come out of retirement and try to catch this new killer, who’s been nicknamed The Tooth Fairy (watch the movie, you don’t want me to tell you everything, do you?).  The trouble is that, in order to catch the Tooth Fairy, Graham has to interview Lecktor to get back into top profiling form…I think you can see where this is going…and if not, again, Watch The Movie!!!

     This is based on the novel, Red Dragon, which is the pre-quel to Silence of the Lambs, and is set to be re-done by Dino DeLauentis…why, no one knows, this movie doesn’t need to be re-done in any way!  So, if you’re in the mood for something like the Silence of the Lambs, but don’t want to watch that creepy guy tuck his hoo-ha between his legs any more, then Manhunter is for you!  There’s no Jodie Foster, and that’s good, there’s no Anthony Hopkins, but it’s still okay.  It’s well worth the money to check this out!  And until next we meet, remember, the best movies are bad movies!!
