Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead

Ordinarily, when I review a movie for Rogue Cinema, but for a new Troma movie, I thought I'd make an exception!  The movie?  Why, Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead, of course!

The story here is typical Troma, when a fast food restaurant (American Chicken Bunker) builds it's latest franchise on the burial grounds of the ancient Tromahawk tribe a curse is placed on the building and anything that dies in the building is possessed by Native American spirits seeking revenge.  So, because most of the chickens in the American Chicken Bunker are dead, they become possessed and begin to kill anyone who gets close, and, soon, the entire restaurant...and the whole Tromaville area, become chicken zombies and the siege of the American Chicken Bunker begins!

The real fun of Poultrygeist is that, first, it's a musical, with songs about such varied topics as lesbianism and fast food, second, it's a very biting social commentary on the corporate mentality of the country in general and the fast food industry in particular.  With nods to Night Of The Living Dead and various other Troma movies, Poultrygeist is one of the best Troma movies (if not THE best) ever made!  It takes a while for Troma to make new movies, mostly because they refuse to sell out to bigger companies, but it's just that reason that keeps their movies as good now as they were when Troma began making movies over 30 years ago!  I'm giving Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead four out of four cigars, because giving chicken wings on this one just felt like ass-kissing!  A wise man would drop by Poultrygeistmovie.com to find out where Lloyd and his traveling circus will be screening this cool new movie next, you won't be disappointed...I swear!  So, until next time, when I'll be cleaning off the end of my nose and preparing for the next ass on the list, remember that the best movies are bad movies!
