Did you ever date a crazy woman? Come on, admit it. We all have! And if you haven't, you may be a crazy woman! I'm looking at you, Bob, we've all been wondering about you! So, if you've never dated a crazy woman, and you're pretty sure that you're not one, you might want to check out a movie called May.
May is the story of a quiet girl who works at an animal clinic and she's kinda cute, except for that lazy eye, and she really seems to be a sweet girl. That is, until you get to know her a little. May's mother convinced her that no one liked her, except for a doll that's sealed into a glass case that can't be opened. Now, that doesn't seem too bizarre, until you realize that May talks to the doll, now you might not think that's not strange, until you know that the doll talks back!!!
Now, May really wants a normal life, but it's really hard when your an insane woman with a lazy eye who hears a doll talking to her and desires perfection in a person. You see, the only things that May knows about intra-personal relationships are the things that she learned from her doll...and oh yeah, the doll really doesn't know much about relationships, what with being encased in glass and not getting out much and all!
This is a movie that's really not like anything I've seen. It's a horror movie that's horror is as much psychological as it is graphic. Alot of the horror is that May really wants to be normal, but what she thinks is normal is way left of center! Her idea of a funny story over lunch to impress a date is the story of a dog who's stitches have come out and it's guts fall out, and the only thing she's ever kissed has been her hand, so when she and a date watch a very strange art film, she thinks that, as they kiss, she needs to bite his lip hard enough to draw blood. This is like watching a car accident, you feel like you really shouldn't, but you can't look away. On some level you feel sorry for May, the "monster" of the story because her mental problem's really aren't her fault, but when a chick takes a bone saw to people you really don't want to condone anything she does! And the ending is something that will make you think, which is something I don't like to do, but for May I'll make an exception!
So, until the next time, remember, never trust a woman with a bone saw who'd talking to her doll, and the best movies are bad movies!
