You know what I hate?  Well, truth be told, almost everything, but there is one thing I hate more than most things.  Teenagers!  Not all teenagers, just the really, really annoying ones, like the ones in almost every 'teen' movie they put out.  You know, Freddy Prinze Jr. and Jessica Love Hewitt and Sarah Jessica Prinze Jr., you know the ones!  Why am I telling you this?  Well, first, just to get it off my chest, and second because it explains my true love of the slasher movie.  The only people who hate the whining teens as much as I do are Freddy, and Jason and Michael Meyers.  And, just by the way, I think you really have to give it up to Michael Meyers, only an actor that good could first wear that mask and scare the hell out of us in Halloween and then make us laugh so hard in the Austin Powers movies...good work Mike!!

But, back to business, my hatred of teenagers, and I really do hate them, is why I'll see almost any of the 'slasher movies' because every slasher I've ever seen enjoys chasing the squealing teens until he can chop or slice or hack or beat them to death!  It's like living vicariously through the movie, all those stupid teens that walk in the middle of the street, or wear their pants about three feet lower than their underwear or pierce things that were never meant to be pierced, just hunted down and killed!!  That's why I went to see Jeepers Creepers.

I thought that this was just another teen slasher movie, which was fine with me, but this turned out to be so much more than that!  This is an honest to God monster movie!  When was the last time you saw an honest to God monster movie?  For me, it was the last time there was a Frankenstein movie on cable, and that was a rerun I had seen a thousand times before, this one is brand new!!

Jeepers Creepers starts like your run of the mill slasher movie, a couple of witless teens on the road who run across what seems to be a weirdo in a run down truck, who apparently is hauling bodies.  They find where the bodies are and you think, well, it's a serial slasher, not just a run of the mill slasher.  Then, when the slasher stalks them and they attack back and he has WINGS, you know that you're in for a little more than you expected.  He turns out to be some kind of demon who's looking for body parts, and we all know that in the movies the best body parts are on the teenagers!

With a movie this different, with an ending as different as this one, I consider this one of the best movies I've seen in a looooooonng time!  I highly recommend Jeepers Creepers to any other teen hating people or maybe just people who like teens but also enjoy a good monster movie!  And remember what we always say here...the best movies are bad movies...or monster movies!!
