Reminding you that The Best Movies Are Bad Movies

Every once in a while I read about a movie that sounds interesting and usually I just keep reading and don't do anything about it.  But, once in a while, I read about a movie and then, a few weeks later, I read about it in a different publication and then, later still, I either hear about it or read about it again!  Now, once I get the thought of a movie stuck in my head, I tend to want to see it.  My wife says I'm a marketing person's dream come true, if you repeat something to me often enough, I have to have it or see it or whatever!  Well, the marketers have struck again, and you know what, this time, I'm glad to let them strike me!

You see, I've heard and read about a movie called Infernal Affairs for a couple of years now, and, finally, I sat down and watched it...and, you guessed it, I loved it!

Infernal Affairs is the story of two cops in Hong Kong.  One cop, Yan, follows the right path and is put into undercover work.  Another, Kin, follows the wrong path and joins the triads.  In the ensuing years, both have become successful in their chosen careers, and when a war begins between the police and the triads, both Yan and Kin are pitted against each other.  Now, while this might sound like just another action packed cop drama, there's more to it than that.  Yan, the undercover cop, is in so deep with the Triads that he's beginning to lose himself, and he's ready to get his identity back and live a normal life again.  While, Kin is beginning to settle into life as a cop and starts to actually respect the cops he's working with.  So, the tension mounts.  This story winds and twists and sometimes it's hard to keep up with, but keep up, it's worth the ride!

Infernal Affairs is currently in talks to be remade here in America, like The Grudge, Ring and who knows how many more?  But, this original will be hard to beat.  Infernal Affairs is that rare movie that will make you think and you won't really mind the thinking!  You can follow the link in the middle of this page to get it, and it's worth the price!  It's called Infernal Affairs and it's a great cop story unlike any other.  So, until the next time, remember never call a cop a pig, unless you just feel the need for a merciless beating, and, the best movies are bad movies!
