A Bothered Conscience

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of independent movies, horror in particular, but after all the zombie movies and vampire movies, sometimes it gets a little boring.  Well, sometimes when I'm just about to give up on indie movies, something comes along that resparks my fire.  A movie that's so good and so original that it really deserves to be seen more widely than it is.  Dennis Smithers' movie, A Bothered Conscience is one of those movies!

A Bothered Conscience the story of Keller McGavin, a backwoods kind of guy...alright, he's a bit of a hillbilly, but, what most people don't know about hillbillies is that they're not nearly as dumb as they're portrayed in the media!  Well, Keller and his son live out in the middle of nowhere, living off the land, the only problem they have is with trespassers, they hate 'em.  Well, when a DNR agent comes across Keller's place and Keller is killed, his son begins to have visions of the people that he and his father killed protecting their property.  The only problem is that, is he dreaming, are the dead rising to haunt him or is something more sinister going on?

A Bothered Conscience is what indie cinema is all about!  An original story, great acting and an ending that will genuinely leave you wanting more!  I can't praise Dennis Smithers Jr's movie enough, if you're a fan of horror, then you'll love A Bothered Conscience.  I've even heard that Dennis is talking about a sequel, which, I for one will be in line to see!  I'm giving A Bothered Conscience four out of four cigars, because it's just that damn good!  After seeing the mayhem that Keller McGavin gets up to in this movie, you'll find yourself crying 'Blair Witch My Ass!', this is the real horror in the woods.  So, until next time, when I'll be, once again, cancelling my camping trip, remember that the best movies are bad movies.
