The Night Of The Seagulls

In the world of the zombie movie, George Romero's zombies still reign supreme, but there are zombies out there that deserve as much attention, the Italian zombie movies of the 70s come to mind, but one zombie series that most people don't know about is Amando De Ossorio's Blind Dead series, for Spanish zombie movies that are considered to be classic zombie movies. Well, I just finished the last movie in the series, The Night Of The Seagulls, and I have to say, after a disappointing third installment, the series does go out on a good foot!

The Night Of The Seagulls is the tale of a young doctor and his wife. They've moved to a small village near the ocean and it's one of those stereotypical weird little towns, the people don't want strangers around and all sorts of unusual things are happening. Well, when a young girl that is working for the doctor is hauled off to be a sacrifice to the undead Templars, he stands up and brings the wrath of the undead knights down on the village and himself. This movie is far superior to the previous installment, it adds some depth to the overall story of the Templars that was there in the first two installments, while still being a great stand alone movie, if you're not interested in seeing all four. And, what's the deal with the seagulls? Well, you'll just have to watch the movie and see for yourself!

I'm giving The Night Of The Seagulls three and a half out of four cigars,

because it's really worth your time, if you're a zombie movie lover, than the whole series is worth your while, but numbers 1, 2 and 4 are the best of the lot, feel free to skip over the third. So, until next time when I'll once again rise again...but that's just to head to the bathroom, remember that the best movies are bad movies.
